The delegation, led by CJC Advisor Mr Chan Boon Teck and President Mdm Elizabeth Wong, was accompanied by several members of the club.

The visit, held on 8 July 2026, focused on enhancing collaboration in organising running events and promoting a healthy lifestyle culture among the local community.

During the meeting, CJC expressed its intention to work more closely with DBKU in hosting recreational activities and running programmes that could attract participants from within Sarawak as well as from outside the state.

The club emphasised that such initiatives would not only encourage fitness but also foster community spirit and tourism appeal in Kuching.

DBKU welcomed the proposal, reaffirming its commitment to supporting community-based initiatives that promote well-being and togetherness.

Officials highlighted that DBKU has consistently provided space, shared ideas and supported programmes that encourage active living among residents of BandarayaKU.

The courtesy visit also underscored the importance of partnerships between civic organisations and local authorities.

By working together, both parties aim to create a stronger culture of health and recreation, aligning with broader goals of community empowerment and urban vibrancy.

Deputy Director of DBKU’s Community Services Department, Encik Rudzaimeir Malek, was also present during the meeting.

His involvement reflected DBKU’s dedication to ensuring that community programmes are well-coordinated and inclusive. The City Jogger’s Club has long been active in promoting running as a recreational activity in Kuching.

Its collaboration with DBKU is expected to expand opportunities for residents to participate in events that encourage fitness, social interaction and civic pride.

The meeting concluded with a shared understanding that future cooperation would focus on practical initiatives to strengthen healthy lifestyle practices while also enhancing Kuching’s reputation as a city that values community well-being.
