30 Wheelchairs Donated to Sarawak General Hospital

KUCHING, July 10 – Sarawak Consumers Association (PPS), together with its strategic partners DC Group (The Roof Realty Sdn. The contribution aims to improve facilities and provide greater comfort for patients receiving treatment at the hospital. The wheelchairs were sponsored by DC Group and Anson Chai Kian Ann & Family as part of their commitment to supporting community welfare and healthcare services in Sarawak.

The “Unity for Humanity” programme was coordinated by PPS as a platform to connect corporate organisations, caring individuals and public institutions. The initiative also strengthens cooperation between non-governmental organisations (NGOs), private companies and the wider community in carrying out meaningful welfare projects that benefit the public.

The handover ceremony was warmly received by the management of Sarawak General Hospital. The hospital delegation was led by Hospital Director Dr Ngian Hie Ung, accompanied by Deputy Director (Medical I) Dr Alex Kim Ren Jye and several hospital officers.

During the ceremony, hospital representatives expressed their appreciation to the donors and PPS for making the programme a success. They noted that the additional wheelchairs would help patients who require mobility assistance and contribute to smoother hospital operations and service delivery.

PPS said the programme reflects the importance of collaboration between NGOs, corporations, organisations and individuals in helping those in need. The association believes that strategic partnerships can mobilise more resources and create a greater positive impact on society.

According to PPS, the “Unity for Humanity” initiative will continue to serve as a bridge between donors and public institutions. The organisation plans to expand similar CSR and welfare programmes in the future to reach more communities and individuals who require support.

The association also extended its appreciation to DC Group (The Roof Realty Sdn. Bhd.), Anson Chai Kian Ann & Family and Sarawak General Hospital for their trust, cooperation and support throughout the programme.

PPS hopes that more companies, organisations, corporate bodies and members of the public will come forward to participate in future social responsibility and charitable initiatives. Through the spirit of “Unity for Humanity”, the association believes more people in need can receive assistance while fostering a more caring, compassionate and united society.

Members of the public who wish to learn more about the programme or future CSR initiatives may contact the Sarawak Consumers Association (PPS) at 017-7109299.
