The governor was greeted upon his arrival by a delegation of prominent Islamic administration figures. Among the welcoming party was Tan Sri Datuk Amar Dr. Haji Abdul Aziz bin Dato Haji Husain, who serves as the Honorary Secretary for the Sarawak State Mosque Welfare Trust Board, widely known as LAKMNS.

Other key dignitaries present to receive the governor included Datuk Haji Misnu bin Haji Taha, the president of the Sarawak Islamic Council, alongside LAKMNS chief executive officer Datu Haji Abdul Hadi bin Datuk Haji Abdul Kadir.

The Director of the Sarawak Mufti Department, Ustaz Haji Ahmad Sukarno bin Saini, was also in attendance alongside several on-duty officers.

The congregational prayers were overseen by Ustaz Ahmad Zaki Bin Jamadil, an Islamic Affairs Officer with LAKMNS, who acted as the congregation leader.

During the session, he delivered a focused sermon detailing the spiritual significance of Fridays and the theological framework surrounding the mandatory weekly prayer.

Before departing the premises to return to his official residence, Tun Pehin Sri Dr. Wan Junaidi spent time interacting directly with members of the public who had gathered for the service.

The governor engaged in traditional greetings to foster community ties and personally distributed financial contributions to the children of the congregants in attendance.

The event highlights the continuous engagement of the Sarawak leadership with regional religious institutions.

The state mosque, historically managed by LAKMNS, remains a central hub for community integration and spiritual gatherings within the capital city.
