The incident involved a black cobra, measuring approximately seven inches, which was discovered inside the living room of a residence.

Recognising the potential danger posed by the venomous reptile, APM Mukah deployed a team to the location immediately. Using the pincer technique, the officers managed to capture the cobra safely.

The operation was carried out with precision, ensuring that no harm came to the complainant, the public, or the personnel involved.

Once the snake was secured, the team confirmed that the area was safe and under control before concluding the mission.

The swift response demonstrated APM Mukah’s readiness to act in emergency situations and reinforced its commitment to public safety.

The team’s motto, “Nang Steady,” reflects their confidence and preparedness in handling potentially hazardous encounters.

Local authorities have reminded residents to remain vigilant and to report sightings of snakes or other dangerous animals promptly.

Cobras, even at a smaller size, can pose serious risks if encountered in residential areas. Timely reporting allows trained personnel to intervene effectively and prevent accidents.

APM Mukah continues to encourage the public to contact them for emergencies. The unit operates around the clock and can be reached at 084-872814.

Their slogan, “There is a Disaster, Call APM,” underscores the importance of community cooperation in ensuring safety.

This latest operation highlights the importance of coordinated emergency responses and the role of civil defence teams in protecting communities across Sarawak.

By acting quickly and efficiently, APM Mukah has once again demonstrated its ability to safeguard residents from unexpected threats.
