PAKAN – The Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) in Pakan successfully managed a snake-catching operation on 7 July 2026, following an emergency call from a resident who reported the presence of a leaf snake outside his home.
A team of APM Pakan personnel was immediately dispatched to the location. Upon arrival, members identified the reptile and carried out the capture using safe handling techniques.
The snake was secured without incident, ensuring that neither the complainant nor the public were placed at risk.
The operation proceeded smoothly, with no injuries or complications reported. Once the situation was under control, the team confirmed that the area was safe before concluding the mission.
The swift response demonstrated the readiness of APM Pakan to act quickly in safeguarding residents from potential dangers posed by wildlife.
Local authorities have reminded the public to remain vigilant and to report sightings of snakes or other hazardous animals promptly.
Leaf snakes, while generally not aggressive, can cause alarm when found near residential areas. Timely reporting allows trained personnel to intervene and prevent unnecessary risks.
