SELANGOR – Sarawak’s Audi Zulkarnien won silver in the women’s individual floor exercise at the 22nd Malaysia Games (SUKMA) Selangor 2026, adding another medal to the state’s artistic gymnastics tally on Sunday.
Competing at the Tun Abdul Razak Chancellor Hall (DECTAR), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, Audi produced a score of 11.500 points in the final to finish second in the event.
Her overall mark consisted of 4.300 points for difficulty and 7.200 points for execution. She completed her routine without incurring any penalties, allowing her to secure the silver medal.
Perak’s Yeap Kang Xian took the gold after recording 12.533 points. Her score included 4.800 points for difficulty and 7.733 points for execution.
The bronze medal positions were shared by Selangor’s Cadence Teh Zi Qi and Federal Territory representative Marissa Zaiful Azian. Both gymnasts finished with identical scores of 11.333 points.
The results placed Audi between Yeap and the two joint bronze medallists in a competitive floor exercise final. Her clean routine ensured Sarawak finished among the medal winners in the event.
Floor exercise is one of the individual disciplines in artistic gymnastics, with competitors assessed on the difficulty and execution of their routines. Scores can be affected by execution errors and penalties, making consistency an important factor in the final standings.
Audi’s performance provided Sarawak with another podium finish in the artistic gymnastics programme at SUKMA XXII Selangor 2026. The silver medal also added to the state’s growing medal collection at the Games.
The result came as Sarawak’s artistic gymnasts continued their participation in the competition, with athletes representing the state across different events.
For Audi, the 11.500-point score was sufficient to secure second place despite a gap separating her from Yeap’s winning total. The absence of penalties also contributed to her final score as she completed the routine without deductions.
The closely contested battle for the remaining podium places was reflected in the shared bronze medal, with Cadence and Marissa both finishing on 11.333 points. The pair were 0.167 points behind Audi.
Sarawak’s latest artistic gymnastics medal adds another result to the state’s SUKMA campaign and demonstrates the contribution of the sport to the contingent’s overall medal tally.
With Audi taking silver in the women’s floor exercise, Sarawak secured another podium finish in the artistic gymnastics competition at the Selangor-hosted Games. The state’s athletes will continue competing across the wider SUKMA programme as the Games progress.
