ASAJAYA – Firefighters from the Asajaya Fire and Rescue Department (BBP Asajaya) successfully carried out a special service operation to destroy a poisonous insect nest at SMK Pesantren Abdul Taib Mahmud, Sadong Jaya, on 11 July 2026.
The operation, led by PBK I Abg Othman bin Abg Sharbini, involved one LFRT Atego BJU 5996 unit. Upon arrival, the team assessed the situation and proceeded to eliminate the nest using an iron rod and burning method. The operation was completed safely, with the area declared secure before the team returned to the station.
No other agencies were involved in the incident, and the operation was conducted smoothly without major complications. The intervention reflects the department’s commitment to ensuring the safety of school communities and preventing potential harm from poisonous insects.
BBP Asajaya emphasised that such operations are part of their broader mission to protect residents and maintain public safety. Quick responses to reports of hazardous insect nests are crucial in preventing accidents, particularly in areas frequented by students and the public.
The department expressed appreciation to the community for promptly reporting the incident, noting that cooperation between residents and authorities is vital in addressing safety risks.
