PUTRAJAYA – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim chaired the first MADANI Cabinet Meeting following the official ceremony for the presentation of instruments of appointment and the swearing-in of ministers and deputy ministers of the Federation.
The meeting marked the beginning of a new Cabinet term, which the Prime Minister described as one entrusted with the people’s confidence and responsibility.
He emphasised that the government must act decisively and swiftly to translate the aspirations of society into policies that deliver tangible results.
“This is a Cabinet that continues the will of the people who shoulder great trust, demanding immediate action, bold decisions and the ability to translate the will and conscience of every level of society into policies that work and are felt, not just rhetoric,” Anwar said.
He reminded ministers that discipline, humility and integrity must guide their service, ensuring that policies are implemented without delay or excuses.
The Prime Minister stressed that the effectiveness of the Cabinet would be measured not by words but by the speed and sincerity of its actions in addressing the needs of the people.
The MADANI Cabinet framework, introduced under Anwar’s leadership, is designed to prioritise inclusivity, good governance and sustainable development.
It reflects the government’s commitment to bridging socio-economic gaps and ensuring that reforms are felt across all levels of society.
Observers note that the Prime Minister’s remarks set a clear tone for the administration, signalling expectations of accountability and efficiency from all ministers.
The emphasis on immediate action and bold decision-making highlights the government’s intent to respond to pressing challenges, including economic resilience, social welfare and national unity.
The Cabinet meeting also reinforced the importance of collective responsibility, with Anwar urging ministers to work closely together to ensure policies reach citizens effectively.
The Prime Minister’s call for humility and discipline is seen as a reminder that leadership must remain grounded in service to the people.
The session concluded with a renewed pledge by the Cabinet to uphold the principles of the MADANI government, focusing on integrity, inclusiveness and rapid delivery of reforms.
