MATU – The Matu District Civil Defence Force (APM) conducted another successful wasp nest removal operation on Thursday, 2 April 2026, following a distress call from a resident in Treng Sekaan Village.
The intervention was classified as a Special Services Case (MSS) due to the proximity of the nest to a residential property.
The Matu District Operations Control Centre (PKOD) received the report from a homeowner who had discovered a large wasp nest in the bushes directly in front of their house.
Concerned about the safety of their family and the potential for aggressive swarming, the resident requested immediate assistance from the authorities.
Upon arrival, the APM team conducted a quick site survey and identified the nest’s location within the vegetation.
After ensuring that all residents were at a safe distance, the team donned the necessary protective equipment and prepared the area for the destruction operation.
The wasp nest was successfully neutralised using a professional-grade insecticide spraying method (Ridsect).
Following the operation, the team performed a thorough inspection of the surrounding bushes to confirm that the threat had been fully mitigated and that the area was once again safe for the residents.
“The operation was successfully completed using the insecticide spraying method, and the situation was confirmed safe,” a spokesperson for the Matu APM confirmed.
The Matu District Civil Defence Force continues to provide essential public safety services, reminding residents that managing stinging insect nests is a high-risk activity that should be left to trained professionals.
Residents in the Matu district who encounter similar hazards are encouraged to contact the PKOD APM Matu District at 084-832208 for prompt professional support.
