Strengthening ties with schools not only enhances the quality of education but also contributes to building a clean, safe, and inclusive city. The townhall session was seen as a step towards aligning local governance with educational priorities, ensuring that both sectors work hand in hand for the benefit of the community.
Participants highlighted the importance of maintaining school cleanliness and safety, noting that these factors directly influence student performance and well-being. Infrastructure development was also a key focus, with calls for improved facilities to support modern teaching methods and digital learning.
The townhall underscored MBM’s commitment to supporting schools in line with broader aspirations for sustainable urban development. By fostering collaboration with PPD Miri, the council aims to create an education-friendly city that prioritises inclusivity and sustainability.
Educators welcomed the opportunity to engage directly with local authorities, noting that such sessions strengthen trust and provide practical pathways for resolving issues. The dialogue also reinforced the importance of community involvement in education, with schools, parents, and local leaders working together to create a supportive environment for students.
MBM reaffirmed its dedication to continuing these collaborative efforts, pledging to maintain strong networks with PPD Miri through the School Taskforce Committee.
