Organised by Pustaka Negeri Sarawak in collaboration with Apadilangit (ADL) Space Academy, the two-day programme combined fun activities with experiential learning to spark curiosity about science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

The camp, held from 11 to 12 July, immersed participants in interactive sessions designed to nurture creativity, problem-solving, and innovation.

Children were introduced to NASA’s Artemis mission, which aims to return humans to the Moon and establish sustainable exploration.

Through hands-on activities, they built DIY Space Launch System (SLS) rockets and engaged in space-themed exploration exercises, encouraging teamwork and critical thinking.

Organisers emphasised that the camp was not only about learning scientific concepts but also about inspiring future generations to consider careers in science and technology.

By blending play with structured learning, the programme created a dynamic environment where children could explore complex ideas in an accessible way.

General feedback from parents and participants highlighted the camp’s success in making STEM subjects exciting and approachable.

Many noted that the activities helped children understand the importance of innovation and perseverance in scientific discovery.

The initiative also reflects Sarawak’s broader commitment to promoting STEM education among young learners.

With global demand for skills in science and technology continuing to rise, programmes such as the Artemis Space Camp are seen as vital in preparing the next generation to meet future challenges.

Apadilangit (ADL) Space Academy, known for its focus on space education, partnered with Pustaka Negeri Sarawak to deliver the camp.

Their collaboration ensured that the content was both scientifically accurate and engaging for children. The academy’s expertise in space-themed learning provided participants with a unique opportunity to explore topics rarely covered in traditional classrooms.

The Sarawak State Library expressed gratitude to all participants, parents, and ADL for their support and commitment.

Organisers noted that the camp’s success was a result of strong collaboration and community involvement, underscoring the importance of collective efforts in advancing education.

The Artemis Space Camp also highlighted the role of experiential learning in fostering long-term interest in STEM.

By allowing children to actively participate in building rockets and simulating space missions, the programme encouraged them to see science as a practical and exciting field rather than an abstract subject.

Looking ahead, organisers hope that the camp will inspire children to pursue further studies in science and technology, potentially shaping future scientists, engineers, and space explorers.

The event demonstrated that early exposure to STEM can ignite passion and curiosity, laying the foundation for lifelong learning.

The conclusion of the Sarawak Generation Artemis Space Camp 2026 was marked by optimism that the experiences gained will continue to resonate with participants, motivating them to explore new ideas and contribute to innovation in the years to come.
