149 Honourees Receive Sarawak State Orders and Medals

KUCHING – The Sarawak State Palace hosted a distinguished ceremony today, where 149 individuals were formally recognised with state honours and medals.

The event was presided over by His Excellency the Yang di-Pertua Negeri Sarawak, Tun Pehin Sri Dr. Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, accompanied by his wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi.

The ceremony began with the presentation of the Pegawai Bintang Sarawak (P.B.S) to Consultant Oncologist Dr. Hadi Ab Jalil, marking the first award of the day.

This was followed by the conferment of the Pegawai Bintang Kenyalang (P.B.K) to 13 recipients, highlighting their contributions to the state.

Further recognition was given to 18 individuals who received the Merit Service Medal (P.P.B). In addition, 10 honourees were awarded the Ahli Bintang Sarawak (A.B.S), while 25 others were conferred the Ahli Bintang Kenyalang (A.B.K). These awards reflect the state’s appreciation for service across diverse fields.

The ceremony also included the presentation of the Pingat Perkhidmatan Terpuji (P.P.T) to 38 recipients. The largest group honoured was the 44 individuals who received the Bentara Bintang Sarawak (B.B.S), underscoring the breadth of recognition given during the event.

The gathering was attended by several senior figures, including Sarawak State Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki and his wife, Datin Amar Baduyah Bujang.

Also present were Deputy Minister in the Sarawak Premier’s Department (Integrity and Ombudsman), Datuk Dr. Juanda Jaya, Deputy Minister of Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development, Datuk Gerald Rentap Jabu, and the Director of the Sarawak Mufti Department, Ahmad Sukarno Saini.
