MIRI: In a groundbreaking achievement, Mercure Miri City Centre has become the first hotel in Malaysia to receive the prestigious Green Key certification. This international recognition highlights the hotel’s strong commitment to sustainable practices and environmental responsibility, setting a new benchmark for the hospitality industry in the country.

The Green Key certification is awarded to accommodation providers that demonstrate exceptional efforts in environmental sustainability. Deputy Minister of Tourism, Creative Industries and Performing Arts (Tourism), Datuk Sebastian Ting Chiew Yew, praised the hotel for aligning with the Sarawak government’s vision for a greener future.
