Kota Samarahan Police Nab Two Vehicle Theft Suspects in High-Speed Chase

Kota Samarahan, 30 December 2025 – Kota Samarahan police successfully apprehended two men involved in vehicle theft following a dramatic high-speed chase along Jalan Outering Samarahan Batu 15, local authorities confirmed today.

Superintendent Damataries Lautin, District Police Chief of Kota Samarahan, said the arrests were made during routine crime prevention patrols by the Mobile Patrol Vehicle (MPV) unit. Officers spotted a suspicious white Toyota Hilux 4-wheel drive without a rear registration number and attempted to stop the vehicle for inspection.

“The driver initially refused to stop and sped towards the Samarahan-Padawan border,” Superintendent Damataries said. “With the assistance of Central Police Jurisdiction (CPJ) members, our team managed to intercept and halt the vehicle safely at the Quari Batu 15 intersection on Jalan Outering Samarahan.”

When officers moved to arrest the two occupants, they resisted and acted aggressively, forcing the police to use minimal physical force to secure them. Following identification checks via the PDRM MCARD system, it was confirmed that the Toyota Hilux had been reported stolen from Sentosa Police Station on 26 December 2025 under case number Kota Sentosa/5265/2025.

Further inspections revealed that both suspects did not possess valid identity documents and only provided verbal identification. Police records indicated that the men had prior arrest histories. No illegal items were found on their persons.

Both suspects, along with the recovered vehicle, were taken to Kota Samarahan Police Headquarters for further investigation and legal proceedings. Superintendent Damataries urged the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to ensure community safety.

The swift action by Kota Samarahan MPV members underscores the ongoing commitment of local law enforcement to combat vehicle theft and maintain public order.
