Sarawak Water Showcases Innovation at SIWW 2026

SINGAPORE – The opening day of the Singapore International Water Week (SIWW) 2026 at Marina Bay’s Grand Sands venue proved to be a landmark occasion for Sarawak, as its delegation highlighted the state’s ambitions in water utility digitalisation and sustainable management.

On 16 June, the Sarawak team joined global leaders, innovators, and industry experts to explore the latest advancements in water technology.

From artificial intelligence-driven network monitoring to smart asset management, the technologies showcased offered a clear roadmap for enhancing resilience and efficiency in Sarawak’s water sector.

A major highlight was the keynote address delivered by Sarawak’s Minister for Utility and Telecommunication, YB Dato Sri Haji Julaihi Haji Narawi.

His speech, titled “Sarawak’s Water Future: Policy Direction, Industrial Growth and Collaboration Opportunities”, outlined a visionary path for the state.

The Sarawak Pavilion quickly became a focal point at the exhibition, serving as a hub for promoting upcoming events.

The Malaysia Water Association (Sarawak Chapter) committee actively engaged with delegates to highlight two major gatherings: the Borneo International Water & Wastewater Exhibition & Conference (BIWWEC) 2026 and the prestigious International Water Association (IWA) World Water Congress & Exhibition 2028, both scheduled to take place in Kuching.

The official launch of the Sarawak Pavilion was another proud moment. The ceremony was officiated by YB Dato Sri Haji Julaihi alongside Singapore’s Senior Minister of State, Mr Zaqry Mohamad, from the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Sustainability and Environment.

The launch underscored Sarawak’s growing presence on the global stage in water and sustainability initiatives.

Beyond the exhibition, the Sarawak delegation, led by Acting CEO Pn. Malseni binti Jamal, participated in ministerial visits and discussions with leading international utility and industrial players.
