MIRI – Roadside drain maintenance was carried out on 21 May 2026 around Lorong Muhibbah 3B/5, located under Zone 14A/1, to improve water flow and prevent blockages that could lead to flooding.
The operation, conducted by the Miri City Council, focused on clearing and maintaining the drainage system to ensure rainwater could be channelled away efficiently.
Proper upkeep of roadside drains is essential in reducing the risk of water pooling on roads, which can cause inconvenience to motorists and pose safety hazards.
Council representatives explained that the maintenance work forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen infrastructure resilience across Miri.

Residents in Lorong Muhibbah have welcomed the initiative, noting that clogged drains often result in stagnant water, which not only damages road surfaces but also creates breeding grounds for mosquitoes.
