The e-Dereg system, launched on 21 March 2024, allows vehicle owners to cancel registrations entirely online.

With automatic verification features, the system streamlines the process and reduces the need for manual intervention. JPJ Malaysia noted that this digital approach improves efficiency, transparency, and public accessibility.

Meanwhile, the AATF initiative provides a structured, environmentally responsible method for disposing of vehicles.

Licensed under the Department of Environment (DOE), these facilities dismantle and recycle end-of-life vehicles according to environmental standards.

The initiative aims to reduce pollution, manage waste effectively, and promote sustainable practices in the automotive sector.

JPJ Sarawak emphasised its commitment to working closely with ministries and agencies to strengthen vehicle management systems.

Officials highlighted that integrating e-Dereg with AATF creates a more systematic and sustainable framework for deregistration and disposal.

These initiatives form part of Malaysia’s broader digital transformation agenda, aligning with efforts to modernise public services while supporting eco-friendly practices.

By combining technology with environmental responsibility, JPJ aims to set a benchmark for future vehicle management policies.

The session concluded with a shared understanding that collaboration among government agencies, industry stakeholders, and the public is essential for success.

JPJ Sarawak expressed confidence that these initiatives will contribute to safer roads, cleaner environments, and more efficient service delivery.
