Sarawak to Go Fully Digital: Physical Water Bills Phased Out from March 1

KUCHING – Sarawak Water Sdn Bhd has announced that starting March 1, 2026, physical water bills will be gradually phased out as the state moves towards full digitalization of its billing system.

In a statement released on its official social media channels, Sarawak Water encouraged all customers to view and download their water bills using the Sarawak Water App, which is available on both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. The company said this initiative is part of its ongoing effort to improve convenience for customers while reducing paper usage and streamlining billing processes.

“Customers are urged to ensure they have access to the Sarawak Water App so they can continue receiving timely billing information,” the statement read. “This digital transition will allow users to monitor their water usage, download bills instantly, and avoid delays associated with physical delivery.”

The move comes as part of a broader push by Sarawak Water Sdn Bhd to modernize its services and adopt environmentally friendly practices. By eliminating printed bills, the company expects to reduce paper consumption significantly while also providing a more efficient and accessible platform for its customers.

For those unfamiliar with the app, it offers an easy-to-use interface where users can track consumption, make payments, and receive notifications regarding billing cycles. Sarawak Water emphasized that physical bills will not be discontinued abruptly, and customers will have ample time to adapt to the new digital system.

Residents are advised to download the Sarawak Water App before March 1 to ensure a smooth transition. The company also encouraged feedback from users to improve the app and make digital billing more user-friendly.

This initiative marks a key step in Sarawak’s digital transformation and reflects growing efforts nationwide to adopt technology-driven solutions for everyday services.
