KUCHING – The Premier of Sarawak, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari bin Tun Datuk Abang Haji Openg, welcomed a courtesy visit from the United Kingdom’s Trade Envoy to ASEAN, MP Naseem Akhter, at the Satria Pertiwi Complex on 16 June 2026.
The meeting highlighted Sarawak’s ambitions to strengthen its role as a regional leader in both digital innovation and renewable energy.
Discussions centred on artificial intelligence (AI) and the energy sector, reflecting the state’s long-term vision to position itself as a hub for sustainable growth and technological advancement.
Sarawak has been actively pursuing initiatives to expand its digital economy, with AI seen as a key driver of efficiency and innovation across industries.
