APM Captured 3.7-Metre Batik Python in Spaoh Chicken Coop

SPAOH – A resident of Kampung Hulu Spaoh was startled on the afternoon of 17 June when a 3.7-metre batik python was discovered inside his chicken coop.

The Spaoh District Operations Control Centre of the Civil Defence Force (APM) received a call about the incident at 3.28 pm.

In response, Bravo Squad, consisting of four members under the leadership of Sjn (PA) Hasla Bin Deli, was immediately dispatched to the location.

The team arrived promptly and began the operation to capture the reptile. Using specialised equipment and baiting techniques, the squad managed to secure the python within 15 minutes.

The capture was carried out smoothly, with no injuries reported among the members of the squad or the public.

Officials confirmed that none of the livestock in the coop were harmed or lost during the incident. The python was later transported to the District Operations Control Centre for further action.

The Civil Defence Force highlighted the importance of community vigilance in such situations, urging residents to contact authorities immediately if they encounter dangerous wildlife.

Quick reporting allows trained personnel to respond effectively, ensuring both public safety and animal welfare.
