Batu Kitang PPR Community Strengthens Unity at Raya Gawai Dinner

KUCHING, June 19 – The spirit of unity and togetherness was celebrated during the Program Santai Makan Malam Raya Gawai PPR 2026, which brought together residents from various backgrounds in a warm and meaningful gathering at the People’s Housing Programme (PPR) community in Batu Kitang.

The event was officially launched by Batu Kitang assemblyman, Lo Khere Chiang, who highlighted the importance of maintaining harmony and strong community ties among residents living in the area.

In his speech, Lo expressed his appreciation to organising chairman Sahferi Tambi and the entire organising committee for their commitment and hard work in ensuring the success of the programme. He said events such as the Raya Gawai dinner play a significant role in fostering closer relationships among residents while promoting understanding and respect between different races and cultures.

Lo noted that Sarawak has long been recognised for its rich cultural diversity and peaceful coexistence among its people. He said the Gawai celebration carries a message of gratitude, unity and togetherness, making it an important occasion for strengthening community bonds.
