The incident was reported to the Sematan District Operations Control Centre (PKOD), which categorised the case as a Special Service (Kes Khas – KK). The complainant contacted APM Sematan for assistance, and officers were immediately dispatched to provide support.

APM personnel successfully retrieved the keys, ensuring that the situation was resolved without damage to the vehicle or further distress to the complainant. The response highlighted the unit’s readiness to handle not only life-threatening emergencies but also everyday incidents that require professional intervention.

The Civil Defence Force reiterated its guiding principle of “Ready, Fast & With Integrity,” underscoring its commitment to serving the community with efficiency and reliability. Officials noted that such cases, though minor compared to other emergencies, demonstrate the importance of APM’s role in providing comprehensive support to the public.

APM Sematan reminded residents that its services extend beyond disaster response and rescue operations. The unit regularly assists with special service cases, including lockouts, minor accidents, and other situations where professional help is needed. By offering timely assistance, APM ensures that community members can rely on its expertise in a wide range of circumstances.

The department also encouraged the public to remain vigilant and to contact emergency services whenever they encounter difficulties that require immediate attention. The APM Lundu Sematan Public Relations and Documentation Unit provided its emergency hotline, 082711292, for urgent cases.

This incident reflects the broader mission of the Civil Defence Force in Sarawak: to safeguard lives, property, and community well-being through rapid response and effective problem-solving. Whether dealing with wildlife encounters, natural disasters, or everyday emergencies, APM continues to demonstrate its dedication to public service.
