The incident, categorised as an Insect Nest Destruction Case (Kes Musnah Sarang Serangga – MSS), was reported to the Sematan District Operations Control Centre (PKOD).

The complainant contacted APM Sematan for assistance, prompting officers to be dispatched to the location.

The team acted swiftly to neutralise the bee nest, ensuring the safety of the household and preventing potential harm to the surrounding community.

APM highlighted its guiding principle of “Ready, Fast & Integrity”, which underpins its commitment to providing rapid and effective responses to emergencies.

Officials noted that insect nest cases, particularly those involving bees, can pose serious risks to residents due to the possibility of stings and allergic reactions.

The Civil Defence Force emphasised the importance of community vigilance in reporting such incidents. Quick action by residents in contacting emergency services allows APM to intervene before situations escalate, reducing risks to families and property.

APM Sematan also reminded the public that its services extend beyond disaster response and medical emergencies.

The unit regularly handles special service cases, including wildlife encounters, lockouts, and insect nest removals.

These operations demonstrate the department’s versatility and dedication to safeguarding communities across Sarawak.

The department encouraged residents to remain alert and to contact emergency services immediately when faced with dangerous wildlife or insect infestations.

The APM Lundu Sematan Public Relations and Documentation Unit provided its emergency hotline, 082711292, for urgent assistance.

Officials reiterated that strong coordination between PKOD and local APM units ensures that emergency calls are addressed promptly.

By maintaining readiness and integrity, the Civil Defence Force continues to uphold its mission of protecting lives and property in Sarawak.

This incident highlights the broader role of APM in community safety. Whether dealing with medical emergencies, wildlife rescues, or insect nest destruction, the unit remains committed to delivering professional and reliable support to the public.
