SEMATAN – The Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) in Sematan successfully destroyed a fly stinger insect nest located on a tree branch near a community hall on Thursday, 18 June 2026, following a public complaint.
The District Operations Control Centre (PKOD) confirmed that it received an emergency call from a resident reporting the presence of the nest.
Concerned about the safety of people in the area, the complainant requested assistance from APM officers to monitor and eliminate the insects.
Upon arrival, the Civil Defence team conducted a safety inspection of the site. The nest was found attached to a tree branch close to the hall, raising concerns about potential stings to residents and visitors.
