Auditions will take place at the MBKS Auditorium this weekend, offering opportunities for singers and dancers across different age groups and genres to demonstrate their creativity and stage presence.

The programme is designed to highlight local talent and provide a platform for performers to gain recognition within the community.

On Saturday, 4 July 2026, the focus will be on dance. Cultural and classical dance auditions are scheduled from 1.00 pm to 3.00 pm, followed by contemporary and urban dance auditions from 4.00 pm to 6.00 pm. The following day, Sunday, 5 July 2026, will be dedicated to singing.

Junior participants aged 6 to 12 will audition from 10.00 am to 12.00 pm, youth performers aged 13 to 18 will take the stage from 1.00 pm to 2.00 pm, and the open category for contestants aged 19 and above will run from 3.00 pm to 5.00 pm.

Successful contestants will progress to the semi-final round on 15 August 2026, with the grand final scheduled for 16 August 2026 at the MBKS Theatre in Kuching Park.

These stages are expected to draw significant public interest, as finalists compete for recognition and the chance to represent the vibrancy of Kuching’s creative community.

MBKS has encouraged residents to attend and support the event, noting that the competition is not only a celebration of talent but also a way to strengthen community spirit.

The council emphasises that the festival provides a platform for young and emerging performers to gain exposure while also entertaining audiences with diverse cultural and contemporary performances.

Kuching’s Got Talent has become a signature highlight of the Kuching Festival, reflecting the city’s commitment to nurturing artistic expression and providing opportunities for performers of all ages. The event continues to grow in popularity, drawing participants from across Sarawak and beyond.

By offering a structured competition with clear categories and stages, MBKS aims to ensure fairness and inclusivity, while also raising the profile of Kuching as a hub for cultural and creative activities.

The auditions this weekend mark the beginning of what promises to be another exciting edition of the talent showcase.
