The Bintulu zone chief of the Fire and Rescue Department, Wan Kamaruddin Wan Ahmad, confirmed the incident. According to him, firefighters from the Samalaju fire station were immediately dispatched to the site and are currently working to control the situation.

“We have our team on the ground. Details about the cause of the fire and any possible casualties are not available yet,” said Wan Kamaruddin when contacted.

Residents near the industrial park reported hearing loud blasts before spotting plumes of smoke. Many expressed their concerns over the potential risks to nearby areas and workers within the factory premises.

Samalaju Industrial Park, known for housing major manufacturing and heavy industries, plays a significant role in the local economy. The incident raises questions about workplace safety and the handling of hazardous materials in industrial facilities.

The authorities are expected to provide updates once the fire is brought under control and investigations progress. Meanwhile, the public is urged to stay away from the area to allow emergency services to operate efficiently.

This is a developing story, and further details will be shared as they become available.
