The meeting was aimed at reinforcing institutional ties and exploring areas of mutual interest that could benefit both the community and the state’s development agenda.

The gathering underscored the importance of collaboration between elected representatives and government agencies.

By engaging directly with the Customs Department, the delegation sought to strengthen communication channels and ensure that operational matters align with broader state priorities. During the visit, discussions centred on enhancing cooperation in administrative and regulatory areas.

Both sides highlighted the value of maintaining strong working relationships, particularly in matters that affect trade, enforcement, and public service delivery.

The dialogue was described as constructive, with emphasis placed on long-term cooperation. The Customs Department plays a crucial role in safeguarding Sarawak’s borders, regulating imports and exports, and ensuring compliance with national laws.

Strengthening ties with policymakers helps to ensure that these responsibilities are carried out effectively while also supporting economic growth.

Dato Ir Lo Khere Chiang’s presence reflected the commitment of local leadership to engage with federal agencies operating within Sarawak.

Such visits are often seen as opportunities to reaffirm shared objectives, including transparency, efficiency, and service to the public.

Datuk Norizan Yahya welcomed the delegation warmly, noting that continued collaboration would contribute positively to Sarawak’s progress.

The meeting also served as a reminder of the importance of institutional partnerships in addressing challenges and advancing development goals.

The courtesy call concluded with both parties expressing optimism that the relationship between the Customs Department and local representatives will remain strong.

The emphasis was placed on ensuring that cooperation translates into tangible benefits for the people of Sarawak.

The visit reflects a broader trend of government leaders and agencies working closely together to promote harmony, efficiency, and accountability.

As Sarawak continues to pursue its development agenda, such engagements are expected to play a vital role in ensuring that policies and enforcement mechanisms remain aligned with the needs of the community.
