BAU – The Bau District Police Headquarters (IPD Bau) carried out an Integrated Crime Prevention Operation from 9.00 pm on 11 July until 3.00 am on 12 July 2026, focusing on several key locations across Bau and Siniawan.
The operation involved patrols and snap checks at Jalan Bau Lama, Pekan Bau, Siniawan, Jambusan, and surrounding village areas.
Police officers were deployed to increase visibility and deter criminal activity while also addressing traffic offences and illegal racing.
During the course of the operation, 13 vehicles and 30 individuals were inspected. Officers issued six traffic summonses for offences including driving without a licence, unauthorised vehicle modifications, and registration number violations.
These checks were part of a broader effort to ensure compliance with road safety regulations and discourage reckless behaviour.
IPD Bau stated that the operation was aimed at preventing crime, curbing illegal racing, and enhancing police presence in public areas to reassure residents and maintain community safety.
The initiative reflects the police’s ongoing commitment to safeguarding the public and ensuring law and order in the district.
Community members were reminded to obey the law and report any suspicious activity to the authorities. Police emphasised that cooperation between residents and law enforcement is essential in maintaining a safe environment.
The operation forms part of a series of integrated efforts across Sarawak to strengthen crime prevention measures.
By combining patrols, inspections, and enforcement, police aim to reduce risks and build public confidence in their ability to respond effectively to community concerns.
IPD Bau reaffirmed its dedication to continuing such operations, stressing that proactive policing is vital in addressing both crime and traffic-related issues. The department assured residents that it will remain vigilant and committed to protecting public safety.
