LIMBANG – The Ministry of Transport Malaysia (MOT) and its agencies have reinforced their commitment to community empowerment in Limbang through the MADANI Adoption Village and MADANI Adoption School programmes.
These initiatives aim to improve public facilities and strengthen educational institutions, reflecting the inclusive development principles of MADANI Malaysia.
The Bintulu Port Authority (LPB) has allocated RM500,000 to support Rumah Panjang Tangai, Lubok Tuan, by providing electricity supply and installing surau fences.
In addition, RM100,000 has been channelled to Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Limbang for the purchase of digital equipment, including Smart TVs, to enhance teaching and learning.
The Malaysian Marine Department (JLM) has also selected Kampung Limpaku Pinang as a MADANI Adoption Village, with RM500,000 allocated for upgrading the village hall, improving electrical facilities, and installing solar lights. These measures are designed to create a safer and more conducive environment for residents.
At the same time, JLM is implementing the MADANI Adoption School Programme at Sekolah Kebangsaan Melayu Pusat, a historic institution recognised as a TS25 Cohort 1 Transformation School and a High-Performing School.
With RM100,000 allocated, the programme focuses on strengthening educational facilities and nurturing the potential of future generations.
Officials emphasised that these initiatives are not only about infrastructure improvements but also about fostering long-term community resilience.
By investing in schools and villages, MOT and its agencies aim to ensure that Limbang residents benefit from modern facilities while preserving cultural and social harmony.
The MADANI Malaysia framework prioritises inclusivity, sustainability, and the well-being of the people. Through these programmes, Sarawak communities are being equipped with resources that support both daily living and educational advancement.
Community leaders welcomed the initiatives, noting that improved facilities and access to modern technology will help bridge gaps between rural and urban areas.
The integration of solar lighting and digital tools reflects Malaysia’s broader push towards sustainable development and technological empowerment.
The combined efforts of LPB and JLM highlight the importance of collaboration between government agencies in delivering tangible benefits to communities.
By focusing on both infrastructure and education, the MADANI programmes in Limbang are expected to have lasting impacts on quality of life and opportunities for future generations.
