LUNDU, Dec 25: A routine morning turned tragic when a 60-year-old man fell into the river near the Kampung Kelaoh jetty and was swept away by strong currents. The incident happened as the man was tidying his boat.

The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) in Lundu received an emergency call at 8.20am. According to a witness, the man had fallen into the river and called for help as he struggled to swim back to the riverbank.
