Sarawak Premier Pays Courtesy Visit to State Governor Ahead of Pre-Cabinet

KUCHING — Sarawak Premier, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Abang Openg, paid a courtesy visit to the Yang di-Pertua Negeri Sarawak, Tun Pehin Sri Dr. Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, at the Sarawak State Palace on Thursday.

The visit was held in conjunction with the Sarawak pre-Cabinet meeting, a significant platform to directly update the Governor on matters pertaining to state administration, according to a statement released by the Sarawak State Palace.

The nearly hour-long meeting was conducted in a cordial and cooperative atmosphere, symbolising the strong relationship between the state’s constitutional monarchy and its executive leadership.

During the meeting, the Yang di-Pertua Negeri expressed confidence in the state government’s leadership and conveyed optimism that Sarawak would continue to enjoy stable governance under the stewardship of the Premier.

Tun Pehin Sri Dr. Wan Junaidi also emphasised the importance of ongoing collaboration across all government agencies and sectors to ensure the continued well-being of the people and the sustainable progress of the state.

The pre-Cabinet meeting serves as a regular forum where the Premier briefs the Head of State on key developments and decisions related to Sarawak’s governance. The meeting also reflects the ongoing commitment to upholding transparency and close coordination within the state leadership structure.
