“She was a mother, a daughter, and a friend. Her life mattered. She worked hard for her family and loved her children dearly,” the family member wrote.

The family also thanked the Civil Defence Office (APM) in Serian for their quick response after the incident was reported. The authorities were informed of the presence of a ground wasp nest at the location and had scheduled an operation to handle the situation. The family expressed hope that follow-up action would be taken to ensure the area is safe for farmers and nearby residents.

“We are thankful to the officers who came forward to assist. We just hope the area can be made safe so that others will not face the same danger,” the relative added.

Local residents have been advised to be careful when working in fields, gardens or forest areas, as ground wasps can be aggressive if their nests are disturbed.
