The meeting was held at the Sarawak Police Contingent Headquarters (IPK) in Kuching during the afternoon session.
Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman, who also serves as Assemblyman for N.4 Pantai Damai, oversees project coordination for regional development agencies, DBKU, and Islamic affairs.
His visit highlighted the strong ties between the state government and the police, reflecting a shared commitment to community safety and regional development.
Discussions during the meeting centred on strengthening cooperation between the police and local leadership, particularly in Petra Jaya and surrounding areas of Kuching.
The Deputy Minister’s presence was seen as an endorsement of the police’s role in maintaining public order and harmony.
He emphasised the importance of community involvement in reinforcing the security network and supporting development initiatives.
Courtesy visits of this nature often serve as platforms for dialogue on strategic issues. In this case, the focus was on enhancing collaboration between government representatives, police, and grassroots leaders such as penghulu and village heads.
These engagements aim to improve two-way communication, ensuring that policies on security and development are effectively implemented at the community level.
The meeting also underscored the role of community leaders in crime prevention and regional growth. By involving penghulu and village heads from Petra Jaya, Kuching, and Padawan, the session highlighted the value of local perspectives in shaping strategies that address both safety and development challenges.
Among those present were SAC Mahbub Mustofa bin Norsalim, Head of the Sarawak Special Branch, along with heads and deputy heads of departments.
Delegations from the Deputy Minister’s office, as well as penghulu and village heads, also attended, reinforcing the collaborative spirit of the occasion. The visit reflects ongoing efforts to strengthen institutional cooperation in Sarawak.
With both government and police working closely together, the aim is to ensure that community safety and development progress hand in hand, benefiting residents across the state.
