APM members were immediately dispatched to the site to assess and manage the situation. Upon arrival, the complainant directed the team to the exact location of the nest.

Equipped with specialised tools, the squad prepared for the removal operation. Using insecticide sprays, including Ridsect, combined with controlled fire application, the team destroyed the nest safely and effectively.

The operation was completed without incident, and the area was declared secure shortly after. No injuries were reported, and residents were reassured that the situation was under control.

This intervention highlights the importance of swift response in rural communities, where wasp nests can pose serious risks to residents.

Large nests, such as the one found in Kampung Jemoreng, can be particularly dangerous due to the potential for aggressive behaviour from the insects.

APM Matu continues to encourage residents to report similar cases promptly to prevent harm. Their readiness and efficiency in handling emergencies reflect the guiding principles of “Ready, Fast, With Integrity”, ensuring that community safety remains a top priority.

The Civil Defence Force also reminded residents to remain vigilant and to seek professional assistance rather than attempting to remove nests themselves, as improper handling can lead to serious injuries.

For emergencies, residents can contact the PKOD – APM Matu District at 084-832-208 or dial the national emergency line at 999.
