On 16 June 2026, members of the Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) reported that Jalan Nanga Kumpang was submerged under approximately one metre of water.

The flooding rendered the road impassable to all vehicles, with officials describing the water flow as moderate but potentially hazardous.

Residents and travellers were instructed not to attempt crossing the inundated section. Instead, they were advised to use Jalan Sayat, which provides access to Engkilili and Lubok Antu.

Authorities emphasised that ignoring these warnings could put lives at risk, particularly given the unpredictable nature of flood currents.

Continuous monitoring is being carried out by APM personnel to assess the situation and ensure public safety.

The district’s emergency response teams remain on standby, prepared to assist residents should conditions worsen.

Officials reiterated that the public should contact emergency services immediately if they encounter difficulties, either by dialling 999 or reaching the Lubok Antu District Operations Centre at 083-584639.
