KUCHING – The Sarawak Islamic Religious Department (JAIS) has successfully held the First Muqabalah Dakwah for Quarter 2026, with the programme taking place on 27 April at Level 10 of the Kuching Division Islamic Religious Office.
The event was officiated by Sahibus Siyadah Tuan Haji Mual bin Haji Suaud, Director of JAIS, who underscored its role in strengthening dakwah governance across the state.
The Muqabalah Dakwah programme serves as a strategic platform for officers and stakeholders to deliberate on improvements in the delivery of religious outreach.
Its primary aim is to ensure that dakwah remains relevant, inclusive, and accessible to communities of diverse backgrounds.
The initiative also encourages innovation while remaining firmly rooted in the Aqidah of Ahli Sunnah Wal Jamaah, reflecting JAIS’s commitment to maintaining doctrinal integrity.
A highlight of the event was the launch of ‘Quick Notes Dakwah’ materials, designed to provide practical guidance for officers in their daily work.
These resources, together with brochures on “Getting to Know Islam”, were distributed to division representatives, equipping them with tools to enhance their engagement with the public.
The programme concluded with an interactive ‘Open-Mic’ session, which allowed participants to share experiences, propose solutions, and exchange ideas on challenges faced in the field.
This session, which ran until 12:30 pm, fostered a spirit of brotherhood and reinforced a culture of knowledge-sharing among dakwah practitioners.
JAIS has emphasised that initiatives such as Muqabalah Dakwah are vital in ensuring that religious outreach adapts to contemporary needs while remaining community-friendly.
By providing structured opportunities for dialogue and innovation, the department aims to strengthen the effectiveness of dakwah work and promote unity among officers.
The event also reflects broader efforts within Sarawak to integrate religious programmes with community development.
By equipping officers with updated materials and encouraging open discussion, JAIS is positioning dakwah as a dynamic and responsive element of social governance.
Organisers expressed optimism that the programme will continue to evolve in future quarters, offering sustained support to dakwah officers and ensuring that outreach efforts remain impactful and relevant to the people of Sarawak.
