KUCHING – The Islamic Dakwah Foundation Malaysia (YADIM) has reaffirmed its commitment to closer collaboration with the Sarawak Government, following a courtesy visit by its President, Datuk Dr Hasan Bahrom, to Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Abang Openg on 19 June 2026.
The meeting, held at the Premier’s Office in the Satria Pertiwi Complex, Petra Jaya, focused on strengthening strategic cooperation and exploring new avenues for community development.
YADIM presented updates on its ongoing programmes in Sarawak, including initiatives in education, welfare, social support, and religious outreach, which have been instrumental in supporting the Muslim community across the state.
During the session, YADIM proposed the implementation of the National Preaching Programme (Program Dakwah Nasional – PDN) at the Sarawak level in 2026.
The initiative, themed “Building Manners, Building the Nation”, is designed to promote character development, instil noble values, and encourage the growth of a knowledgeable and ethical society.
The programme is expected to serve as a platform for nurturing resilience and unity among communities while reinforcing the importance of moral education.
The courtesy call also highlighted YADIM’s broader vision of strengthening networks with state-level stakeholders.
The presence of Sarawak Mufti, Sahibus Samahah Datu Haji Khalidi Haji Ibrahim, who is also a member of YADIM’s Board of Trustees, and YADIM Sarawak Director, Ustaz Awang Dulhadi Awang Mat, underscored the organisation’s dedication to building strong partnerships.
Premier Abang Johari welcomed the initiative, noting that such collaborations align with Sarawak’s broader goals of fostering social harmony and empowering communities through education and values-based development.
The Premier has consistently emphasised the importance of nurturing a society that is both progressive and rooted in cultural and religious traditions.
YADIM’s efforts in Sarawak reflect its national mission to integrate religious outreach with social welfare, ensuring that programmes are not only spiritually enriching but also practically beneficial to communities.
In recent years, YADIM has expanded its activities to include youth empowerment, family support, and initiatives aimed at addressing contemporary challenges faced by society.
The meeting concluded with a shared understanding that cooperation between YADIM and the Sarawak Government will continue to evolve, with both parties committed to advancing programmes that strengthen community resilience and uphold shared values.
