KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia has once again marked its presence on the world stage as Malaysian-born composer Joy Ngiaw created history at the prestigious Children’s & Family Emmy Awards in New York City.
Ngiaw won the Outstanding Music Direction and Composition for an Animated Program award for her work on the animated series WondLa, which aired on Apple TV+. The award was presented during the 4th Annual Children’s & Family Emmy Awards ceremony held at Lincoln Center on March 1 and 2.
Her victory is seen as a proud and meaningful achievement not only for her personal career but also for Malaysia’s creative industry. Competing on an international platform known for recognising excellence in children’s and family entertainment, Ngiaw’s success reflects the growing global influence of Malaysian talent.

She credited the collaboration and creative freedom given to her as important factors in bringing the series’ music to life.

Meanwhile, the National Film Development Corporation Malaysia, commonly known as FINAS, also congratulated Ngiaw for her international accomplishment.
