KUCHING – The Sarawak State Allied Health Professions (AHP) division has officially inaugurated its new leadership team for the 2026-2027 session.
The transition ceremony serves as a critical milestone in maintaining the continuity of governance and ensuring the sustained excellence of healthcare delivery across the state.
The Sarawak State Health Department extended its formal gratitude to the outgoing 2024–2025 leadership committee, acknowledging the significant contributions and professional legacies established during their tenure.
The newly appointed team now assumes the responsibility of guiding the profession through a period of evolving health demands and structural transformation.
In alignment with the state’s broader health transformation aspirations, the incoming leadership has unveiled three key strategic pillars:
Identity and Integrity: A concerted effort to reinforce the core values and professional identity of the AHP community.
Service Innovation: Cultivating a culture of excellence to drive innovation in clinical service delivery.
Human Capital Development: Developing a workforce that is not only competent and competitive but also inclusive.
Leadership within the AHP sector is defined by more than administrative oversight; it requires a commitment to data-driven decision-making and a steadfast focus on the welfare of the public.
By leveraging these priorities, the new committee aims to address the complexities of the modern healthcare system while ensuring that the needs of the community remain at the forefront of every clinical policy.
“Together we strengthen the role of AHP as an important component of the health system, to ensure quality services, integrity and high impact to the community,” the department stated.
The AHP sector plays a vital role in Sarawak’s medical infrastructure, bridging various clinical disciplines to provide comprehensive patient care. As the new leadership settles into their mandates, the focus remains on fortifying the integrity of the profession.
By upholding these standards, the division intends to continue delivering high-impact healthcare solutions that benefit all residents of Sarawak, fostering a health system that is both resilient and adaptable.
