Among the offences committed were not possessing valid travel documents, overstaying their permitted period in Malaysia, and abusing social visit passes. These violations fall under the Immigration Act 1959/63 and Immigration Regulations 1963.

The detainees were immediately taken to the Immigration Detention Depot for further processing and legal action.

This latest enforcement reflects the department’s ongoing commitment to tackle illegal immigration and ensure that foreign nationals in Sarawak comply with the law. The Sarawak Immigration Department also issued a reminder to employers and the public to always abide by the nation’s immigration rules and to report any suspicious or illegal immigrant activity to the nearest authorities.
