The enforcement team recently carried out operations targeting posters, stickers, banners and buntings that had been placed without approval.

These materials were found on lamp posts, road signs, trees, building walls and other public facilities. Officials stressed that such practices not only spoil the appearance of public spaces but can also pose risks to road users and pedestrians.

Among the advertisements removed were unlicensed money lending promotions, which have long been a concern for local authorities.

In addition, banners and posters advertising businesses, services and activities without proper permits were also dismantled.

The council emphasised that all forms of advertising within its jurisdiction must comply with established regulations to ensure public order and safety.

The removal exercise was conducted through routine patrols and follow-up actions based on complaints lodged by members of the public.

MPP stated that community feedback plays a vital role in identifying problem areas, enabling enforcement officers to act swiftly against offenders.

Council representatives explained that illegal advertisements often obstruct visibility, distract drivers and contribute to clutter in public spaces.

By removing them, MPP aims to reduce hazards while improving the overall image of the municipality. The initiative also reflects broader efforts to instil civic responsibility among businesses and individuals.

Authorities have pledged to continue monitoring the situation closely, with enforcement actions scheduled to be carried out periodically.
