KUCHING – After their earlier dental visit in the city, the Governor of Sarawak, Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, and his wife, Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, spent a relaxed afternoon at Bombay Spices, a well-known eatery along Jalan Satok.
They were joined by family members, including his daughter Sharifah Nong-Jasima and her husband Muhammad Nur Hakeem, as well as their cousin Wan Mahdi bin Wan Mohbar.
The small gathering offered a quiet break from official duties and a chance to enjoy time together in a casual setting.
The family spent about two hours at the restaurant, sharing a meal and conversation in a warm, unhurried atmosphere.
Visits like this often draw attention to the city’s lively food scene, where long-standing establishments serve both residents and distinguished guests.
Before leaving, the governor thanked the management and staff for their hospitality and praised the quality of the meal prepared for his family.
Kuching is known for its diverse dining options, and Jalan Satok remains one of its busiest food corridors. The governor’s stop at a local restaurant shows how accessible these neighbourhood spots remain, even for those holding the highest office in the state.
The outing wrapped up a full day for the governor, who earlier highlighted the importance of personal health during his visit to a dental clinic in Saradise.
By combining routine care, family time, and support for local businesses, he maintained a visible and relatable presence within the Sarawak community.
